Is the game free?
Yes, the game is free and is brought to you by Nitto Tire corporation.
When
I download the game, it says I need a new version?
When you download the game, it is in a .zip file (compressed
file). In order for the game to function correctly, you will need to extract the .exe (executable file) from the .zip file.
Make sure you extract and save the file, if you select open, you will continue to get this error. When you have correctly
extracted and saved the file, you will see a helmet icon. Windows XP can unzip these files without any additional software,
some of you may need to download third party software. You can find free software to complete this process by using your favorite
search engine.
I'm having trouble logging on, it says "Game full?"

How do I stage?
Staging
is when you line up your vehicle to start the race.
Usually FWD cars roll out faster than RWD cars and can benefit
from shallow staging. This is where you just barely light the staged light on the Christmas tree (the starting lights). This
allows you to get a few inches jump on the start, which can have a pretty large affect on your time. The opposite of shallow
staging is deep staging.
What is a FOUL?
A foul is when you launch too early - if your reaction time
is less than .500 - you are automatically fouled. The game features a "sportsman tree" for the starting lights.
Reaction
time is factored into both bracket and heads up racing - so be sure to practice your timing. You don't have to wait for the
green light. Remember, it takes your car some time to get going off the line so even if you take off a little early, you may
not FOUL the race. Deep or shallow staging will also have an affect on your reaction times.
How do I launch?
The
more power you have, the more difficult it can be to launch the car properly. If you have too much power, you can easily overpower
the wheels and waste your power spinning the wheels rather than moving forward.
To launch, engage the gas and hit
the UP ARROW to engage first gear.
How do I improve my launch?
Get good drag racing specific tires. The
Nitto 555R is a streetable tire designed specifically for drag racing. It features a soft tread rubber compound that is still
decently long wearing, so you can mount your drag tires up at home and drive to the strip without wearing them completely
out. Most sizes of the 555R feature a special carcass construction that allow the use of lower than normal tire pressures
at the strip for extra grip while still allowing safe handling at normal pressures for street driving.
I finish
first but it says I lost!?
After you've selected a computer opponent, you'll be asked to enter a dial-in (if you
haven't already). If you select 15.8 as your dial-in, and run a 15.7, you will automatically lose the race. This is called
a break out. Your goal is to run as close to your dial-in as possible without running faster than your selected dial-in. If
both you and your opponent break out, the driver who breaks out the least will win.
